Faced with the climate emergency, many students from major schools have taken advantage of graduation ceremonies to express their concern and anger.

Engineering students, future business leaders or senior executives… Despite their pre-determined future, they wanted to make their voices heard when they graduated. In several large schools, the same scene is repeated: students at the desk, denouncing the climate inaction of governments and companies.

This is the case of Anne-Fleur Goll, a graduate of HEC, who says she wants to change things from the inside. “Today, my degree is a weapon that I want to use.” Students also denounce the lack of courses related to ecology. “There are courses that exist, but often they are optional or inconsistent with their curriculum”, explains Marine Miller, journalist and author of “La Révolte”. In 2019, the question of climate issues was part of the common core in one out of ten courses, insufficient according to more and more students.
