“Hexa”, Gabrielle Filteau-Chiba | The duty

Hexa. Sandrine. Thalia. In Hexa, Gabrielle Filteau-Chiba paints the portrait of carnal, rebellious women, witches, lovers, who abandon the world of machines for that of fairies. In the northern forests, at the heart of a reforestation and reintegration project which temporarily shelters them from the constant surveillance of the city, they watch over, sow, plant, harvest, stick together and place the common at the center of their actions so that nature, like hope, is reborn and regains its rights. After a first trilogy, started in 2018 with Cabin (XYZ), the writer continues her commitment to the territory and sorority. His new dystopian universe skillfully outlines the boundaries and consequences of a future governed by men and algorithms, while refusing the instinctive cynicism that accompanies this type of proposition. His furious and lyrical pen is sometimes plethoric, but assumed, in this desire to embrace the cries of the heart of a dying planet.
