No more isolation for contact cases. A week after the lifting of the health restrictions put in place against the Covid-19 pandemic in France, the recommendations concerning contact cases of people who tested positive are changing on Monday March 23. Whatever their vaccination status, they no longer have to respect a period of isolation, indicates the Ministry of Health (PDF document).
Contact cases, even if they will be able to leave their homes, will however have to respect several rules. They should thus “strictly apply barrier measures, and in particular wearing a mask indoors and outdoors in contact with other people”, “limit their contact, especially with fragile people”, “avoid all contact with people at risk of severe form”and “telecommute as much as possible”says the ministry.
Contaminations are on the rise again
On the other hand, the rules concerning screenings do not change: if you are a contact case, you must be tested two days after being informed of a risk of transmission. In the event of a positive test, you must isolate yourself and wait five days to go out, provided you test negative and have no symptoms of the disease.
The average number of positive cases for Covid-19, calculated over a week, continues to increase, according to figures published on Sunday by the health authorities. The number of new cases recorded is 81,283. The daily average over seven days, which smooths out the daily jolts, is on the rise: it stands at 89,002 against 86,022 on Saturday and 65,251 a week ago.
