Vigilance is reinforced in the nursing home in the face of the heat wave hitting France on Tuesday 12 July. Report in Toulouse, in Haute-Garonne.

In L’nursing home St. Monica” From toulouse (Upper Garonne)the morning has just begun, and it’s already time for the round of fresh water for Jacqueline Fournier, 95 years old. The accompaniment of the elderly is reinforced, and on the side of the residents, all the tricks are good to take to preserve themselves from the heat. “I leave my door open on the hallway all day, since the hallway is refrigerated”explains Jacqueline Fournier.

Heat wave requires, the nurses are on the lookout. They watch for any signs of dehydration. In the kitchens ofnursing homewe also adapt. “We are not going to offer a cassoulet, a tartiflette when it is hot. So we can offer gazpachos for soups, and milkshakes, ice creams for desserts”details Nathalie lamananurse coordinator. The temperature is maintained at 23°Cand air conditioning is installed in all common rooms and corridors.
