Thursday, August 4 in the evening, the temperatures remain high. 26 departments are kept on heat wave orange vigilance by Météo France. The heat is difficult to live with, especially for tourists currently in France.
Tourists can no longer take it Thursday, August 4 in Strasbourg (Bas-Rhin). It is 37°C. So holidaymakers opt for cool activities. “We went to the cathedral, it was much cooler,” admits a tourist. “We were going to the bateau-mouche, but in fact no, it’s too hot”, said another. Indeed, even a walk on the canals is difficult to bear in such heat.
At the other end of France, in Charente-Maritime, many thought they would find a bit of freshness, but in Jonzac (Charente-Maritime), it was 32°C in the afternoon. “Today, I’m really very hot. There, we suffer a little bit anyway”, says a woman. But even in the Jura, the mercury was 37°C. So the lakes are very coveted. “We can’t wait to swim”, reports a little girl. Météo France predicts the end of the heatwave episode this weekend at the latest.
