September is coming to an end, October is upon us, and the sun is still shining in Quebec. The coming week promises to be warm and sunny, with a return of rain and cool weather expected on Thursday or Friday.
In Montreal and Quebec, the temperature is expected to reach a maximum of 26 degrees Celsius mid-week, the hottest temperature expected this week, according to Environment Canada data.
Similar temperatures are expected in Estrie, the Laurentians and Outaouais. The mercury could even rise to 28 degrees in Gatineau this Wednesday.
Temperatures above 25 degrees Celsius are also expected further north, such as in Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean and Abitibi-Témiscamingue. Slightly cooler temperatures are expected in the east of the province, namely in Bas-Saint-Laurent, Gaspésie and the North Shore.
The nights will also remain warmer than seasonal norms in Montreal, between 11 and 17 degrees Celsius.
“We are going to be several degrees above normal for the whole week, until the beginning of next week,” specifies Dominic Martel, meteorologist for Environment Canada.
The sun is still out for a good part of the week. On Thursday, however, a low pressure system will “break this streak of good weather,” underlines Mr. Martel.
Rain and a cold front should bring the temperature “closer to seasonal norms,” says the meteorologist.
