Hayden Panettiere has come a long way. The American actress, best known for her roles in the series heroes and Nashville, went through a difficult time due to his addiction to opioids and alcohol. “I was on top and I ruined everything” she confessed in an interview with the magazine People. The 32-year-old actress, recently embroiled in a fight, had then gone into postpartum depression following the birth of her daughter in December 2014.”I never felt like I wanted to hurt my child, but I didn’t want to spend time with her. There was just this gray color in my life“.
“In a cycle of self-destruction”
The agreement was also not present with the Ukrainian boxer Wladimir Klitschko, his companion at the time and father of his daughter. “He didn’t want to be near me. I didn’t want to be near myself. But with opiates and alcohol, I tried to feel happy for a while. Then I felt worse than before. I was in a cycle of self-destruction. I had tremors when I woke up and could only function by sipping alcohol” she recounted.
She finally got out of this situation after eight months thanks to therapy and hospital treatment. “I did some work on myself (…) It hasn’t been easy and there have been many ups and downs. But I don’t regret even the ugliest things that happened to me. I feel incredibly accomplished in what I’ve done. And I feel like I got a second chance” she said during this interview.
She can now fully focus on her personal goals, including her role in the horror movie saga: Scream. She also founded a charity organization last March to raise funds to support Ukraine in its conflict with Russia, as reported by the American media in which she confided.
