The Islamist movement’s military spokesperson said in a statement that the two hostages had been released “for humanitarian reasons, following” mediation by Qatar.

The release of these two hostages also aims “to prove to the American people and the entire world that the allegations made by (Joe) Biden and his fascist administration (about Hamas) are baseless,” he added.

Mr. Biden visited Israel on Wednesday to show unwavering solidarity following the bloody attack carried out by Hamas on October 7.

The American president also exonerated Israel regarding a deadly strike on a hospital in Gaza which caused a wave of anger in the Middle East. Hamas and Israel blame each other for this explosion.

“We must keep in mind that Hamas does not represent all the Palestinian people and has only brought them suffering,” he also said.

Some 200 Israeli, foreign and dual national hostages were kidnapped in Israel and taken to Gaza by Hamas fighters during the unprecedented attack on October 7, which sparked a war, with Israel shelling from the Gaza Strip to “annihilate » the Islamist movement.
