Hamas announced on Tuesday June 25 the death of 10 members of the family of its leader Ismaïl Haniyeh, who were killed in an Israeli strike on a camp in Gaza City, according to the Palestinian Islamist movement. Zahr Haniyeh, the sister of the Hamas leader, was killed in this raid on the Shati refugee camp, the movement reported in a statement, accusing the Israeli army of targeting “deliberately innocent civilians.”

“If the criminal enemy thinks that targeting my family will change our position and affect our resistance, then they are deluding themselves because every martyr in Gaza and Palestine is from my family”, reacted Ismaïl Haniyeh, in exile in Qatar, in a press release. LThe Civil Defense in Gaza confirmed this strike. Asked by AFP, the Israeli army said it was unable to confirm the information on the death of the 10 members of the Hamas leader’s family.

In April, three sons and four grandchildren of Ismaïl Haniyeh were killed in an Israeli strike on the Chati camp. The army confirmed having killed the three sons, described as“military agents of the terrorist organization Hamas”. Ismail Haniyeh then announced that around 60 members of his family had been killed since the start of the war between Israel and Hamas, following attacks carried out by the Palestinian movement on October 7.
