The Hamas government’s Health Ministry announced on Tuesday, October 31, that at least 50 people had been killed in an Israeli bombardment of a refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip. The bombing, the final toll of which could be considerably heavier according to the same ministry, destroyed “at least 20 buildings”, in the Jabaliya camp. The Israeli army itself confirmed this attack, adding that it had killed a Hamas commander.

In a video shot by the television branch of Agence France-Presse, we can count at least 47 bodies draped in shrouds lying on the ground in the courtyard of a hospital after being extracted from the rubble. The images also show a huge crater and the destruction caused by the bombing. “Jabaliya massacre, more than 20 buildings were destroyed on the heads of their inhabitants and more than 50 martyrs arrived at the hospital”, the ministry said in a message to the media. Dozens of camp residents “are under the rubble”, he added.
