half of promised Western weapons are delivered late, assures Ukrainian Defense Minister

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has repeatedly urged his Western allies in recent days to deliver military aid “on time”.

“Right now, commitment does not equate to delivery.” Half of the Western weapons promised to Ukraine are delivered late, the Ukrainian Defense Minister said on Sunday February 25. Because of these delays, “we are losing people, we would lose territories”, added Roustem Oumerov, during a forum dedicated to the second anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The Ukrainian army faces an extremely difficult situation on the front. Therefore, the Ukrainian president requested military aid from his allies and demanded delivery “on time”. • A speech from Volodymyr Zelensky expected. The Ukrainian president is due to give a press conference on Sunday to mark two years since the Russian invasion. “We will vanquish”Volodymyr Zelensky proclaimed on Saturday in a speech at the Gostomel military airport near kyiv.

• Thousands of people demonstrate in France. In Paris and around ten other French cities, thousands of people, Ukrainian and French, often wrapped in the yellow and blue flag of Ukraine, gathered on Saturday to express their solidarity but also their concern at a time when the Kiev forces, lacking weapons and ammunition, are in a very difficult position facing Russian troops.

The leaders of the G7 countries promised on Saturday to “raise the cost of war” for Russia, following a virtual summit where Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky urged his allies to deliver their military aid to “time” to his weakened country at the dawn of a third year of war.
