The former professional tennis player, director of the Roland Garros tournament and the Masters 1000 at Paris-Bercy, was coming to the end of his contract at the end of 2021, the FFT announced on Tuesday.

Director of the French Open since 2016, Guy Forget, whose contract ended on December 31, will leave his post, announced the FFT on Tuesday, December 7. “His succession for the Parisian Grand Slam will be announced in the coming days“Says a press release.
The former professional player, in activity between 1982 and 1997, holds one of the finest records in French tennis. As a player, he won the Davis Cup in 1991 and 1996. He also lifted the trophy as captain in 2001. Director of the Paris Masters 1000 since 2012, Guy Forget who was a member of the Roland steering committee. Garros since 2011, and had been appointed director of the French Open in February 2016. He replaced Gilbert Ysern, who had been sacked on February 4, 2016.
Soon to be 57 years old (he will celebrate them on January 4), the former Fed Cup captain is therefore turning an important page in his life, at the end of two years marked by the management of the Covid-19 crisis (Roland report -Garros from May to September and cancellation of Bercy in 2020).
This stop comes after the arrival of a new team at the head of the French Tennis Federation (FFT), now chaired by Gilles Moretton. On October 4, Guy Forget was cited in the “pandora papers” case, for having been the beneficiary of a company based in the British Virgin Islands. The ethics committee of the FFT, which had taken up the case, had cleared it in view of “the absence of tax evasion or other criminally reprehensible behavior established” in an opinion delivered on the 5th November 2021.
