(Montreal) A police investigation was opened late Monday evening, in the northwest of Montreal, after at least one shot was heard in a residential area of the borough of Saint-Laurent.
In the middle of the night on Tuesday, no injured person had been found by the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), which had not reported any arrests either.
The detonation was heard shortly after 9:50 p.m. near the intersection of Guertin and Vanier streets. Hearing witnesses then contacted the 911 emergency telephone exchange.
Upon their arrival on the scene, the first SPVM police officers located a firearm projectile casing on the ground, but the inspection that followed did not reveal any projectile impacts on a car or a residential building.
It seems that the person responsible for the event fled the scene before the arrival of the police officers.
A security perimeter has been erected. Forensic identification technicians and SPVM investigators began examining the scene.
