Jane and Raphaël met a little over a year and a half ago during an evening in the Basque Country. The first words were exchanged in song, their common passion. She is of German origin, he was born in Toulon and both created the duo Janaël, the contraction of their two first names.
The duo is influenced by the great artists of the 60s and 70s, particularly the Beatles. On stage, they mainly do covers but Jane and Raphaël also compose their songs like “Radio song” or “My lord”, a kind of letter that Jane wrote for Raphaël. In the compositions, Janaël is inspired by travels, their stories but Jane and Raphaël also share “their ways of seeing the world”.
Their texts are exclusively in English, it is both easier to express themselves in this language for Jane but it is above all a language which, according to them, lends itself more easily to the expression of emotions.
The duo Janaël is notably in concert this summer:
- June 26 at the Garage in Biarritz
- August 3 at the Hossegor kiosk
- August 14 and 30 in Capbreton
