Asked about the possibility of soon including abortion in the Constitution, Sophie Gaudu affirms that “It’s good news”. “It’s a very good thing, because everything that goes in the direction of securing, affirming, not calling into question women’s right to abortion is a very good thing, and I believe that it is supported by a lot of French people and the political class”she continues. “The question is how this project will be written (…) the National Assembly asked that the right be guaranteed, and the Senate, the law determines”, says the gynecologist.

“There are anti-abortionists in France”

The first political reactions were heard during the day. For Marine Le Pen, this is of no use “strictly for nothing, because no political movement calls for the questioning of abortion”. Asked about the upcoming political debate, the gynecologist suggests that it “There are anti-abortionists in France, but this represents a small part of the population, even if they express themselves with force and fanfare (…) what matters is that women have access to abortion”she concludes.
