A man and a woman died a few hours apart on Tuesday, May 17, after bathing in Cap-Ferret. Another is missing. Live, we find Hélène Chauwin.

After several drownings on the Atlantic coast, the authorities are calling for the utmost vigilance. “We expect a lot of people on the beaches of the Gironde, in particular Bordeaux residents who have come to seek a bit of freshness far from the furnace of the city”reports journalist Hélène Chauwin live from Lège-Cap Ferret (Gironde), Wednesday May 18. “However, it is not recommended for them to bathe, because today the waves are very high”she warns.

Indeed, this increases the phenomenon of baïnes, natural basins crossed by strong currents that can carry a swimmer offshore. “It is these baïnes which caused the death of two people yesterday on this beach”continues the journalist. A 69-year-old man was taken away with three other bathers. He is the only one who could not be saved. In addition, a surfer is also missing off a neighboring town. “We remind you that the beaches are not supervised. won’t be before mid-June”concludes Hélène Chauwin.
