The tension was papable on the set of Do not touch My TV, Wednesday May 18, 2022. The reason? Cyril Hanouna and his columnists debated football player Idrissa Gueye’s recent refusal to play on Anti-Homophobia Day.
“It’s taking on a global dimension, but I support it. Idrissa Gueye is an exemplary man, he has just raised a million euros for young patients at a charity gala. He is someone who is very concerned about what is happening in society. […] He is thrown to the dogs, there is hatred against him and I find that unacceptable”declared Gilles Verdez, taking up the defense of the sportsman… A position that Matthieu Delormeau obviously did not support.
“You really are a huge asshole!” », launched the former host of NRJ 12, very upset against his colleague! “Homophobia is not an opinion, it is a crime. What you are saying here is a shame. I tell you eye to eye! », he continued.
Very angry with Gilles Verdez, Matthieu Delormeau concluded: “This is going too far! “We will forgive him because he is on the edge of emotion”, declared Cyril Hanouna in reference to accusations of homophobia. “It’s already forgiven”, said Gilles Verdez, not very resentful. So let’s hope that the two columnists will patch things up quickly…
