These are now five files that occupy a good part of the time of the prosecution of Roanne, north of the Loire. Five files that correspond to the five victims of injections in a nightclub in the city since the beginning of April. The last two victims filed a complaint after analyzes revealed traces of GHB in their blood.
Two 17-year-old girlfriends drugged with GHB
These last two victims presented themselves at the Roanne police station this Friday, May 6. They have just received their results of analyzes carried out at the beginning of April. Tests that revealed the presence in their blood of GHB, a mind-altering acid better known as the “rape drug.”
The facts go back to the night of Saturday 2 to Sunday 3 April. The two 17-year-old friends spend the evening at the T Dansant. Everything goes smoothly. But the next day the teenage girls have headaches and don’t feel well. They try to remember their evening, but they have big memory lapses. They both have a hematoma with in the middle the trace of a puncture on the thigh. They explain a priori not to have been victims of any sexual violence.
They go to the hospital, where the first blood samples are taken. At the time, almost no one spoke of these bites in the discotheque, the two friends therefore chose not to report themselves to the authorities. It is only a month later that they do so, after having received the results of their analyses.
“We are passing an important stage in this investigation”
The public prosecutor of Roanne, Abdelkrim Grini, has opened two new investigations for the administration of harmful substances and premeditated violence. Until now, the analyzes carried out on the first three victims had not reported the presence of any narcotic or psychotropic product. This could change, since new GHB blood test results expected in coming weeks for complaints filed at the end of April.
The Roanne prosecution appeals once again “to the vigilance of young people during festive gatherings, without falling into psychosis and paranoia.” The hearings of T Dansant staff and witnesses are continuing, as well as the analysis of video surveillance images provided by the establishment and by the city of Roanne. As soon as possible, a call for witnesses should be made public.
