Gérald Darmanin will announce tomorrow the dissolution of the Uprisings of the Earth, the collective denounces a “very political” and “worrying” decision

The announcement was expected. Gérald Darmanin announced that he would present, Wednesday, June 21, in the Council of Ministers, the decree of dissolution of the environmental collective the Uprisings of the Earth. The Minister of the Interior had initiated the dissolution procedure on March 28, a few days after the violent clashes in Sainte-Soline (Deux-Sèvres). The Earth Uprisings on Tuesday denounced a “very political and particularly worrying dissolution”.

Responding on Tuesday to a question from a Renaissance deputy who denounced the violence that occurred between the police and environmental activists during the demonstration against the Lyon-Turin rail link, Gérald Darmanin defended the procedure for dissolving the Earth Uprisings in arguing that“no cause justifies injuring police and gendarmes”.

A “vain attempt” according to the collective

Remained blocked for more than two months, the procedure moved last week, after the deterioration in particular of a vegetable farm in Saint-Philbert-de-Grand-Lieu (Loire-Atlantique) during a traveling demonstration against the exploitation sand for industrial purposes in Saint-Colomban, notably at the request of Uprising of the Earth.

This dissolution was “claimed directly from the Head of State by agro-industry and the FNSEA”. “Trying to silence the Earth Uprisings is a vain attempt to break the thermometer rather than worry about the temperature”says the environmental movement in a press release.
