After several days of negotiations and final stalls, the composition of the new government, led by Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne, was unveiled on Friday May 20 by the secretary general of the Elysée, Alexis Kohler. A late announcement since it has been almost a month since Emmanuel Macron was re-elected. “This is not a light thing, it requires time, substantive exchanges”explained the head of state on Thursday.

Finally, things have therefore accelerated in the last few hours. The new government team has 27 members (13 women and 14 men), parity being respected. Among them, there are 17 full-time ministers, six deputy ministers and four secretaries of state. New appointments could follow after the legislative elections on June 12 and 19.
