“We could examine the protections against expulsion enjoyed by certain categories of foreigners”believes Gérald Darmanin, “in connection with their age of arrival in France or their marital status, and which do not result from constitutional or international obligations. He also offers to wear “from one to three years the possibility of detaining or placing a foreigner under house arrest on the basis of his OQTF [obligation de quitter le territoire français]”. Finally, he would like a reduction in the time “to voluntarily leave French soil 30 to 15 days after the prefect’s order”.
“Since the end of the pandemic, we find more ‘classic’ figures, with around 30% of OQTFs executed”he told the Figaro. “In the first half of the year, this figure even increased by 50% towards the countries of the Maghreb and Africa and more than 3,000 foreign offenders were removed in two years.”
