On January 19, a tragedy struck French cinema since Gaspard Ulliel – winner of the César for best male hope in 2005 for his role in A long engagement Sundayas well as that of the best actor for his interpretation in Just the end of the world in 2017 – succumbed to his injuries caused by a skiing accident in Savoie. He then left behind his loved ones, in particular his parents Serge and Chrystine Ulliel, as well as his ex-companion Gaëlle Pietri with whom he took care of their child Orso aged around six.
For three days, Serge Ulliel, his grandson Orso and Gaëlle Pietri were all together, with three of the best friends of the late actor, on a boat to pay tribute to him through the Tara Ocean Foundation. A foundation that has “mission is to explore the ocean through science to better understand it and share its knowledge and scientific discoveries in order to create citizen and collective awareness. The ocean represents 71% of the surface of our planet. To study and protect it is to take care of the global system of our planet.“, as shared by the mother of his son on his Instagram account, before explaining how much the protection of the marine environment meant to him.
