John David Washington (tenet, BlacKkKlansman) plays Joshua, a former special forces soldier, who mourns his wife Maya, played by Gemma Chan (Eternals, Let Them All Talk). He is recruited to eliminate the Creator, who has developed the ultimate weapon, a robot that has the appearance of a child played by Madeleine Yuna Voyles in her first role.
Gareth Edwards and Chris Weitz, who collaborated on RogueOnesign the screenplay for the film which is due to be released on September 20.
