Rumors about Oasis’ return to the stage have always existed, but they have perhaps never been as strong as those currently fueling social networks. Fifteen years after their separation, the legendary group even seems to offer fans confirmation by publishing, on the night of Sunday to Monday, August 26, a short video that looks like a meeting. The latter mentions the following date and time: Tuesday, August 27, 8 a.m.

The message was shared on Oasis’ official website and Instagram account, as well as on the personal pages of Liam Gallagher and Noel Gallagher, the band’s brothers and frontmen. And while the post may seem somewhat cryptic, there are other elements that give fans hope.

Last May, the group announced a reissue of Definitely Maybe on the thirtieth anniversary of their most successful album. Liam Gallagher performed the full set of the album during a concert on the main stage of the Reading Festival on Sunday 25 August in England. The singer dedicated the hit Half The World Away to his older brother, a gesture that suggests the reconciliation of the two members of the group after years of a tumultuous relationship.

This possible return of the group made headlines in Sunday Times Sunday August 25. “Noel and Liam Gallagher appear to have settled their differences and, if the truce holds, they will play major concerts in London and at Manchester’s Heaton Park in 2025,” can be read in the newspaper. The Sunday Times even reported a rumour that Wembley Stadium would be booked for ten dates.

Oasis’ last concert was in August 2009. The group split up a few days later in Paris while they were due to perform on the Rock en Seine stage. Liam Gallagher notably broke his brother’s guitar there.

Both members of Oasis have since embarked on solo careers and have continued to spar on social media and in the media. The reformation of the group would therefore represent a real change of direction for the siblings, but anything seems possible. Don’t Look Back in Anger, says one of their greatest songs which appears on their second album (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? released in 1995.
