The G7 company has shut down its Tesla electric taxis after a serious accident on Saturday in Paris, the group’s communication confirmed to AFP on Tuesday, December 14. This decision follows an accident on Saturday evening, where a Tesla taxi lost control of its vehicle in the 13th arrondissement of Paris. An accident that caused seven absolute emergencies and three relative, according to the police headquarters at franceinfo.
The number of stopped vehicles is low: around 37 taxi drivers are affected by this suspension, according to G7, which was not able to immediately provide the number of Tesla in its fleet because some vehicles can be shared.
Tesla, which has access to certain technical data, assured that there was “no technical failure” from his car. The American manufacturer does “no comment” at this stage on the shutdown by G7 of its Tesla taxis. A spokesperson for the group also told AFP on Tuesday that the company remained “available to the authorities” to send them the data which it can have remotely on the vehicle concerned, without giving further details.
