Fuel: the price of a liter of diesel rises by almost 6% in one week

It is again close to 2 euros per litre. According to data published by the Ministry of Ecological Transition, after having increased by 2.8% on average the week of August 19, the price of a liter of diesel rose again by 5.9% on average last week. The prices of other fuels remained stable.

The liter of diesel cost, on average, 1.9488 euro last week, up 5.9% over one week. The liter of SP95-E10 cost 1.7392 euro, up 0.50% on average. A liter of SP98 cost 1.8405 euros, up 0.40% from the previous week.

Since January 1, 2022, fuel prices have been rising

Thus, the liter of diesel increased by 26.8% between January 1 and August 26, 2022. The liter of SP95-E10 increased by 8% and the liter of SP98 by 8% also, according to data published by the Ministry of Ecological Transition.

What price increases since the lows observed in early May 2020?

The price per liter of diesel is up 67.1% between the lowest observed during the pandemic in the spring of 2020 and last week, the price of the liter of SP95-E10 saw its price climb by 42.8%. The price per liter of SP98, for its part, increased by 41.8% over the same period.
