Twice a year, the one-star Michelin restaurant Les clefs d’Argent in Mont-de-Marsan offers you a free menu for a purchased menu. It’s the fall operation “Tous au restaurant”. The opportunity for you to pay half price and the opportunity for Les Clefs d’Argent to make its cuisine accessible to a greater number of people. The menu for this operation promises to be divine, colorful and astonishing. Be careful, you have to book quickly, says Christophe Dupouy, the chef who is already a victim of his own success.
A starred cuisine for all
Apart from the “Tous au restaurant” operation, if you check the website and the various Clefs d’Argent menus, you will find that Christophe Dupouy and his wife Eugénie charge inexpensive prices compared to other starred establishments and compared even to certain gastronomic tables. For example, count €66 for a 5-course menu, €74 for a 6-course menu and €88 for a 7-course menu. And then if you want to opt for a lunch menu (Tuesday to Friday) it will cost you even less.
The chef and his wife have only one objective, to allow everyone to feast, to taste, to test. A philosophy that also allows us to support local producers and suppliers while maintaining a loyal clientele.
For a little taste, here is one of the desserts on the menu at the moment. A seasonal dessert focused on citrus fruits from the Bastelica family, La Vallée des Deux Sources in Verlus in the Gers; “Brownies, brioche cream, buckwheat praline whipped cream, Padua lime paste and buckwheat caramel, lemon caviar and Buddha’s hand…”. A dessert that can be tasted touch by touch until the last spoon.
Red carpet for children
And the children’s menu then? Well, if you go to Les Clefs d’Argent with your children, they will be received in the kitchen by the chef with whom they will compose their own menus! A truly adorable attention that allows the little ones to enter the kitchens of this starred restaurant and discover behind the scenes.
