From March 16 on TVA: the documentary series “Quépop” will celebrate local culture

The 1990s will be scrutinized, culturally speaking, in the new documentary series “Quépop”, a nostalgic invitation to revisit this teeming decade, from March 16, on TVA.

Produced by Pixcom, in collaboration with Quebecor Content, this series is described by its instigators as “a 100% Quebec tribute” to our artists, whose importance in our lives has been measured over the past three years. .

“Quépop” will make it possible to make a foray behind the scenes of this prosperous decade “where the artists of Quebec [ont osé] think big,” they say. We will celebrate the successes, without sulking our pleasure by revisiting less glorious episodes, the production even evoking “memorable scandals”. We also promise to reveal “crispy anecdotes” and “well-kept secrets”.

To carry all these events, “Quépop” relies on the testimonies and comments of some fifty personalities, including Sonia Benezra, Isabelle Boulay, France D’Amour, Luc De Larochelière, Marjo, Mitsou, Mario Pelchat, François Pérusse , Martine St-Clair, Mara Tremblay, Roch Voisine and Anne-Marie Withenshaw.

Six episodes were directed by Charles Gervais, but for the time being TVA has programmed four in its schedule from Thursday March 16, at 9 p.m. No date is mentioned at this stage for the other two episodes.
