Frenchman Benjamin Brière, detained since May 2020 in Iran where he is accused of espionage, began a hunger strike on January 28, his lawyer said in a press release on Monday.
His family and his supporters today express their deep concern, while Benjamin Brière has been detained for almost three years in “conditions of exceptional hardness”indicates Me Philippe Valent.
A first hunger strike at the end of 2021
Arrested in May 2020 and sentenced “at the end of a mock trial brought by the Revolutionary Guards”Benjamin Brière had already observed a 35-day hunger strike in December 2021, to protest against his conditions of detention.
