The whole world turned to London (United Kingdom), Saturday, May 6, during the coronation of King Charles III. And many French people made the trip to attend this historic moment.

In the midst of a crowd, the vast majority of which are British, tourists from all over the world, and in particular the French, came to celebrate the new monarchs of the United Kingdom. “What is beautiful is to be in a historic moment“, says a man, who admits despite everything that his trip to London was planned before he knew the date of the coronation. After nearly two hours of walking, all nationalities are gathered to sing the God save the King.

“We feel lucky to be here”

It is the sacred union around Charles III and the fervor he arouses. “We really feel a united people who love royalty very much. We feel lucky to be there and to share this moment”, launches a Frenchwoman. A couple, fans of the royal family, absolutely had to be present in front of Westminster Abbey this Saturday, whether it’s selling or whether it’s raining. “We need things like that, positive, traditional and which allow us to bring the country together”they explain.
