Free influenza vaccination will be maintained this year in Quebec

The Minister adds that the measure will ensure better accessibility of services to Quebecers, with a concern for fairness.

At the end of last November, the Government of Quebec announced that the extension of free vaccination was exceptional and that it would be reassessed during the year 2023.

Public health authorities point out that those most at risk of developing complications from influenza are those aged 75 and over, those who suffer from chronic illnesses, as well as pregnant women in the second and third trimesters of their pregnancy.

Priority groups also include families with children under 6 months of age, health care workers as well as people who live under the same roof as all these people, as well as caregivers.
