Fred Sammaritano announces his retirement from sport

We can easily imagine that there will be a lot of emotions and applause this Saturday, May 6 at the Gaston Gérard stadium for his last home game in a DFCO jersey. In a video posted on DFCO’s Twitter account, Fred Sammaritano announces that he will retire from sport.

At 36, this winger is a figure of the Dijon club. He played 176 appearances (and scored 14 goals) with DFCO. Fred Sammaritano is one of the veterans of the team. It is one of the fans’ favorite players. “It’s a difficult decision to make” he explains on the DFCO website “I’m 36, and I’ve been a professional for 18 years, so I’ve already had a long career.”
