François-Xavier Bellamy takes legal action. The day after a tweet from theInsoumise MEP Rima Hassan concerning him, the LR MEP affirms “file a complaint” against this message which “aims directly, in terms that are impossible not to understand as direct physical threats”he revealed in a press release published on his networks, Thursday July 25.

“For the moment, François-Xavier Bellamy and his little friends, close to the Israeli genocidal regime, sleep well at night. It won’t last.”Rima Hassan wrote on her X account on Wednesday afternoon. The message from the French-Palestinian activist remained online for only one night and was deleted on Thursday morning.

François-Xavier Bellamy believes he was chosen “namely to the vindictiveness of Islamist circles, whose violent actions she has repeatedly legitimized”according to him. “The threat, towards any citizen or towards an elected official, cannot be tolerated in a democratic society,” the MEP also argues.

This new controversy comes after the right had put up obstacles at the beginning of the week to Rima Hassan’s candidacy for the vice-presidency of the Human Rights Committee in the European Parliament. On her X account, the rebel had then challenged François-Xavier Bellamy on Tuesday: “The cowardice that drives you here is the same as that which is in your empty and evasive gaze when I pass you in the corridors of the European Parliament. Tremble. This is only the beginning.”
