François Hollande candidate in Corrèze

“In an exceptional situation, an exceptional decision”it is with these words that former President François Hollande announced, Saturday June 15, that he would run in the legislative elections, as part of the New Popular Front. “If I made this decision, it is because I felt that the situation was serious, more than it has ever been”, he said. Beyond blocking the National Rally, the candidate said he shared the program presented by the united left with a return to wealth tax and retirement at 60. However, even if François Hollande was the first to support the left-wing rally, his candidacy surprised more than one.

The former president was invested by the socialist federation of Corrèze. The general leadership of the party was taken by surprise before finally knighting him. “I was surprised because I didn’t know he was a candidate”, explained Olivier Faure, first secretary of the Socialist Party. Asked about a possible entry into Matignon, François Hollande said he was not looking for anything for himself, focusing first on the upcoming election.
