Franck McCourt, owner of OM “must whistle the end of recess”, urges Saturday September 23 on franceinfo Benoît Payan, mayor of Marseille, while the club is going through an internal crisis which led to the withdrawal of president Pablo Longoria. A meeting Monday evening between OM leaders and supporters’ representatives turned sour, causing the departure of coach Marcelino. The mayor of Marseille wants this “crisis subsides”. “Everyone must come to their senses”says Benoît Payan.

The mayor of Marseille appeals directly to the owner of the club Franck McCourt, in order “let us know where we are going”. “We have to set a course”, insists Benoît Payan. He considers that we “cannot leave a club which has such a strong history, with such extraordinary supporters, with a leader who does what he can in difficult conditions, without direction, without strategy and without vision for the future”, he adds. Benoît Payan therefore affirms to wait “clearly the main shareholder on this issue”.
