He wanted to dot the i’s. Unfortunately, no Frenchman was able to miss it during the summer. Last July, the fires ravaged the Gironde for several weeks and could have done much more damage without the courage of the firefighters who were able to overcome the flames. If the landscape of the Dune du Pilat became lunar after the fire, many houses and campsites were also victims of the tragedy and among them, the Flots Bleus campsite so dear to Franck Dubosc and his fans.
Indeed, this is the place that served as a backdrop, and made famous by Fabien Onteniente’s trilogy, Camping, in which the actor plays the role of Patrick Chirac. It is therefore not surprising that he hastened to react, on July 19, to support the region: “Today Patrick is crying… To all our camping friends, Girondins and firefighters. We will rebuild our campsite!”. Later, on August 24, Franck Dubosc reacted again in the columns of the Parisian.
Franck Dubosc responds to the controversy
By explaining in particular that he had taken this drama with “A lot of sadness and desolation. Obviously by my attachment to this region where we shot the Camping saga but far beyond that, it is the destruction of the forest in general that saddens me, of this magnificent region that I love so much”. However, this support did not seem to please everyone, quite the contrary. Some have accused the comedian of using the fires to promote and take advantage of the tragic situation.
This is why, this Tuesday August 30, questioned by Nagui in The original bandFranck Dubosc wanted to clarify the situation and respond to the controversy surrounding him. “We didn’t call Quasimodo when Notre-Dame burned down […] The Flots Bleus campsite existed before me. I don’t want to take this for myself. I knew it would be like, ‘You’re taking this for publicity'”he lamented at first before ensuring: “I don’t need anyone to talk about the Flots Bleus campsite to do my promotion. It’s just a sadness for the people who are there and for the forest”.
