The first prices are around €20,000, which makes it a more affordable accommodation than a classic house. In addition to being less expensive, these tiny houses are often more ecological because they consume less energy, and attract people looking for a more sober lifestyle.
The problem is that to go from dream to reality, the owners of these tiny houses often find themselves facing a wall. Many have all the difficulty in the world to obtain, from their town hall, the necessary authorizations to settle on their land, or that of the people who wish to welcome them. We have received many testimonials from people who are prevented from settling down because the municipalities are still very reluctant to accept this type of housing. They are often reluctant to give their consent for fear of what they call “cabanisation”.

Whatever the situation in which you find yourself, it is essential to obtain authorization from your town hall: you cannot put a tiny house in your garden or on your land, even if it is constructible, without having obtained his agreement.
The only way to set up a tiny house without permission is to change land every three months. Which is not very practical if you plan to make it your main residence. So you will have understood, the number one rule, before embarking on such a project, is to get good information beforehand from your municipality.
