A rise in power. After a mixed start to the European Championship, the French team showed why it was one of the best teams in the world, by winning against Germany, host country of the competition, Tuesday 16 January (33-30). Thanks to this victory, Guillaume Gille’s men finished the preliminary round in first place in their group and can thus move forward with confidence in the rest of the competition. France remains the bane of the Germans since the latter have not won in official competition against the Tricolores for more than ten years, during the preliminary round of the World Cup in 2013.
