Here are the four pitfalls, according to Jean-Marc Léger, founding president of the Léger firm.

“It’s four elements that will influence this short five-party campaign,” he said.

Pandemic

The last two years have been marked by the pandemic and the health measures chosen by the government to protect the population have caused a reaction.

“If the cases start to increase when classes return, we will see a confrontation between François Legault and Éric Duhaime and both will benefit,” said the president of the polling firm.

September 10

On September 10, the members of the Conservative Party of Canada will elect their leader and a victory for the more right-wing candidate, Pierre Poilievre, could influence the Quebec election.

“Eric Duhaime’s positioning will be extremely important. We could see a wave of resignations by Quebec MPs, possible unions between political parties. Is Éric Duhaime the Quebec Pierre Poilievre?

“Head to Head Quebec 2022”

The five leaders of the main parties will be present at “Face à face Québec 2022” presented on TVA and LCN on September 15.

Economy and Inflation

Inflation, which is recording peaks, will be at the heart of the election campaign and moreover, the leader of the PLQ, Dominique Anglade, declared on Sunday that the question of the ballot box will be the economy.

“If inflation continues to rise or the level of unemployment in Quebec rises because it is very low for the moment,” explains Mr. Léger.
