At least four people were killed on Monday February 5 and another injured in a strike carried out by the Russian army on the city center of Kherson, in southern Ukraine, announced the head of the local military administration, Roman Mrochko. “Three of the dead are men aged 45 and 50 who were in a car, and (the fourth is) a woman who was in the street at the time of the attack”he lamented on Telegram messaging.
The official accompanied his message with a video showing a completely charred car and what appears to be an impact a few meters away. “Another man was injured. He is currently hospitalized”, specified the local official, denouncing a new Russian attack in Kherson for “killing and injuring civilians”.
The city of Kherson is regularly targeted by Russian bombings. The city had been occupied for several months by the Russian army in 2022 before its withdrawal in November to the other side of the Dnieper River, each side now controlling a bank. This deadly strike comes two days after a bombing blamed by Moscow on the Ukrainian army and which left at least 28 dead, according to Russian emergency services, in Lyssychansk, a town occupied by Russia in eastern Ukraine. At least three representatives of the occupation are among the victims of this bombing.
