Four months after slapping Chris Rock, the star breaks the silence in a long and moving video on Instagram!

Friday July 29, four months after slapping Chris Rock on the stage of the last edition of the Oscars, Will Smith decided to break the silence on his Instagram account. Indeed, the actor published a video of a few minutes through which he answered a few questions. “It’s been a minute. Over the past few months I’ve done a lot of self-reflection and homework. You asked a lot of fair questions that I wanted to take some time to answer”could we read in the introduction.

It is the face somewhat marked with a cap screwed on the head, and a provided beard (and badly cut) that the star then appeared on the screen. “I contacted Chris (Rock) and the message that came back is that he is not ready to talk, and when he is he will contact me”he said. “I apologize. My behavior was unacceptable and I’m here anytime you want to talk.”

Will Smith has apologized to the comedian’s mother and family. “I want to apologize to Chris’ mum. I didn’t realize, I didn’t think about how many people I was going to hurt at that point…I want to apologize to Chris’ family, especially Tony Rock. We had a great relationship.”he said before adding that he knows the relationship may never be repaired. “I’ve spent the last three months replaying and understanding the nuances and complexities of what happened at that time…I can tell you all that there is no part of me that thinks that’s the right way to behave.”

Moreover, he wanted to exonerate Jada Pinkett by explaining that she had not encouraged him to go and settle accounts with Chris Rock on stage. Will went on to admit to being heartbroken for tarnishing the moment of the other nominees at the Oscars. “I’m sorry, it’s really not enough”concluded the father of three children. “I’m human and I made a mistake…” He ended the video by saying that he hopes he can one day be forgiven by everyone.
