A former physiotherapist working in Créhange (Moselle) was sentenced on Wednesday September 18 in Metz to four years in prison, three of which were suspended, for sexual assaults committed on ten patients, reports France Bleu Lorraine Nord.
This former physiotherapist, aged 40, married and a father, was tried by the Metz criminal court, accused by these ten patients of touching between 2019 and 2020, in his office.
All the victims described the same modus operandi: the physiotherapist would set them appointments early in the morning or late in the evening, when his office was empty. The practitioner would impose “well-being massages”. The victims describe having their panties pulled down, fingers brushing their breasts or massaging their buttocks. One of these women was eight months pregnant at the time of the incident. She was the one who alerted the authorities in 2020.
The court sentenced the man to four years in prison, three of which were suspended, but with a reduced sentence for the firm part, an obligation to receive treatment and an obligation to compensate the victims. The former physiotherapist will also be registered in the Fijais (file of perpetrators of sexual offences). He will be prohibited from having contact with the victims and permanently banned from working as a physiotherapist.
