The 2022 edition of Bordeaux Fête le Vin officially ends this Sunday. The event has returned after four years of absence due to the health crisis. An edition that satisfies the organizers even if there were fewer people than during the last one in 2018, when 61,100 tasting passes were sold. This year, 35,000 passes have been sold in three days (from Thursday to Saturday) or 185,000 tastings. I have to say that “the weather was not right” for Bernard Farges, the president of the CIVB (Interprofessional Council of Bordeaux Wines) and “2018 was a record year“.
Soon an annual edition of Bordeaux celebrates wine?
At the end of this edition, the thoughts of the organizers are already to subsequent editions. One thing is certain, the music will be part of the next, perhaps even an integral part of the name of this appointment. The question is not yet settled. Another point that is under discussion: make Bordeaux wine festival an annual event. For Brigitte Bloch, president of the Bordeaux Tourist Office, the question arises. “Festivals take place every year, it’s not by chance. It’s a way to stick in people’s minds. It is also easier for foreign visitors. And then it also allows you to imagine different events each year, to have a synergy that is not lost.“
