The leader of La France insoumise made these remarks on Saturday during the meeting to launch his movement’s campaign for the European elections.

“Mr Putin is a dangerous head of state”, warned Jean-Luc Mélenchon, Saturday March 16, during the La France insoumise meeting launching its campaign for the European elections. The Russian president is dangerous “because he is involved in the question of peace and war”according to the former presidential candidate. “He therefore does in his domain what he believes to be his duty, as we ourselves do what we believe to be our duty”judged Jean-Luc Mélenchon, in 80th place on the LFI list for the June 9 ballot.

“We must talk about peace. We must vote for peace. Peace, peace, peace, it’s our vote, insisted Jean-Luc Mélenchon. Peace in Gaza, recognition of the State of Palestine, punishment of war criminals, peace in Ukraine.”

According to the left leader, “Peace is possible with regard to Ukraine on the condition that we understand that there can be no other outcome than where there is neither winner nor loser”.
