“It is essential that we maintain the food services at Accueil Bonneau for the good of citizens. This is why the CIUSSS Centre-Sud and my team have been working for several weeks with the organization to find solutions to their financial challenges,” declared Lionel Carmant on X (formerly Twitter) after a meeting with the general director. from Accueil Bonneau, Fiona Crossling.

The minister added that it will be necessary to improve services so that they are offered 24/7, as is the case for several other resources.

“It is a fundamental element if we wish to offer the best possible services and help people experiencing homelessness to get off the street. Discussions are continuing in order to find a lasting solution to the financing challenges of Accueil Bonneau,” he concluded.

Remember that the organization announced on December 23 that it would possibly be forced to stop its lunch window services offered on weekends due to its financial difficulties. Accueil Bonneau even threatened to stop its food service in February if the government did not increase its subsidies.
