Tribute Attal to the two prison officers killed
A national tribute to Arnaud Garcia and Fabrice Moello, chaired by Gabriel Attal, is paid at midday, Wednesday, in Caen.

An exchange with families. The head of government met the families of the victims at 11:15 a.m., away from the cameras, before the ceremony scheduled for noon at the former remand prison in Caen, the city where the two killed agents were based. Around fifty supervisors came from all over France to represent the profession.
Emmanuel Macron replaced at the last minute. The head of state, who was to preside over the ceremony, but canceled his visit to go to Nouméa in response to the crisis in New Caledonia, met the families of the victims on Tuesday afternoon, before his departure.
The two supervisors decorated posthumously. Brigadier supervisor Arnaud Garcia and prison captain Fabrice Moello were posthumously made knights of the Legion of Honor, according to a decree published Wednesday in the Official Journal.
