Revealed during the 2017 season of The voice, Abigail Galwey has since invested in several musical projects, solo or in groups. Her most recent is called EDDY, a duo she forms with bassist Danny Trudeau, Dominique Fils-Aimé’s faithful accompanist. Their debut album is called Fluid, a title that could qualify the musical proposal, pop above all, then drawing on soul, R&B, blues and jazz. In the production, the guitarist Joe Grass gives a lot of presence to these songs which, on the other hand, manage with difficulty to become embedded between our two ears because of melodies without much relief, except perhaps for that of the soul-disco number. Room in a Bubblewhich also includes a couplet in French, and One Thing Still Remains, one of the best on the album. Galwey has a convincing voice, a beautiful warm tone that does honor to the musical styles that feed the duo, whose musical identity remains, precisely, fluid, even still undecided. In concert at the Ministry on October 19.
