Florent Pagny, Zazie, Indochine… France Télévisions, Radio France and the Red Cross are mobilizing in music for Ukraine

France Télévisions and Radio France are organizing a major concert of support for Ukraine on Tuesday evening, March 8, in partnership with the Red Cross, the culmination of a week of public service mobilization in favor of the populations affected by the Russian invasion, on site and in neighboring countries.

Indochine, Florent Pagny (despite the treatment against cancer which forced him to cancel his tour), Zazie and Clara Luciani will take part in the event, broadcast on France 2 and France Inter, live from the Maison de la Radio and Music, from 9:10 p.m. Franco-Georgian pianist Khatia Buniatishvili and singers Pascal Obispo, Julien Clerc, Carla Bruni, Jane Birkin, Angélique Kidjo and even Barbara Pravi were also present, among a host of artists from variety and classical music.

The French will thus be able “respond concretely to the humanitarian emergency, inside and outside Ukraine, through donations to the French Red Cross”, specify the two public groups in a press release. Presented by Leïla Kaddour and Nagui, this great evening “for peace with the musical groups of Radio France, the Orchester National de France, the Choir and the Maîtrise de Radio France”, will also be broadcast on TV5 Monde.

It is part of a special week of public service solidarity, which shakes up its grids and relays calls for donations from the Red Cross. In addition to numerous special editions devoted to the ongoing conflict since February 24, its antennas will put culture “in tune with this surge of solidarity” as during the Victories of Classical Music on Wednesday on France 3 and France Musique, where the Ukrainian anthem will be performed.

This Friday evening, France Culture broadcasts in particular, from 8 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., a “vigil of readings, music and interventions organized by the director of the National Theater of Strasbourg, Stanislas Nordey, with more than 60 actors, artists and cultural personalities”. Presented by Arnaud Laporte and Claire Chazal, this evening is broadcast simultaneously on Culturebox, live and in public from Chaillot-Théâtre national de la Danse. France Musique offers a concert from 8 p.m. at Studio 104 of Radio France “bringing together Ukrainian, Russian and French artists from classical to jazz, including singing and traditional music”, while Fip and France Bleu began broadcasting songs by Ukrainian artists.
