five events organized in Berry

Several unions are calling for a day of strike and demonstration throughout France this Thursday, September 29, against the pension reform and for purchasing power. In Indre and Cher five events are planned.

Against pension reforms, to increase wages

Exploding energy bills, inflation galloping to 6% over one year, everything is soaring except wages and that’s the whole problem for Florent Trinquart of the CGT in Indre. “We can see it particularly in Indre where we are a territory of low wages. There is also the pension reform. But it’s all about wages. If there are higher wages, better contributions and the plans are balanced.”

On the side of MEDEF, the employers’ union, it is not the desire that is lacking but the means. Businesses are also hit hard by soaring prices and caught in the crossfire. “What is our solution today?” asks Charles Dupont, head of MEDEF in Indre. “French companies are victims of a global economic situation with a transport price that has exploded, in terms of supply at the level of raw materials and also the price of energy”.

But for Florent Trinquart, big business hides behind the current context, like yet another excuse, not to increase wages. He recognizes it, however, the bosses of VSEs and SMEs are also suffering like their employees from the current context. “On one side there is the Medef with the CAC40, and then on the other the subcontractors, the multitude of which I am a part. We are here to buffer and suffer” Explain the trade unionist who invites small bosses to come to the streets too this Thursday, September 29.
