The return match delivered its verdict. Unsurprisingly, it is therefore Emmanuel Macron who wins his second confrontation against Marine Le Pen, with 58% of the vote, five years after the first round. A result unfortunately not very surprising given that the candidates, eliminated in the first round which gathered the most votes on the part of the French, had appealed to “stop the far right”. In other words, preventing the candidate from National Gathering to gain power. A request that skews the results because a large part of the French did not vote for their convictions but out of duty to block.
This Sunday, April 24, France has therefore indeed chosen the one who will govern the country for the next five years. However, this will be Emmanuel Macron’s second and last term. So for his last years officiating at the Elysée, the re-elected President of the Republic will do everything to satisfy the people who voted for him. Starting with choosing a government that will meet the expectations of all citizens. Although nobody knows, at the moment, who will be the Prime Minister and the other ministers around the companion of Brigitte Macron, many rumors are already circulating.
Who will work alongside the re-elected president?
According to The chained Duck“no more than four or five” ministers would be reappointed. Among them, Julien Denormandie, current Minister of Agriculture. Sebastien Lecornu. The Minister of Overseas, formerly at the Territorial Collectivities. Alexis Kohler, current Secretary General of the Elysée. But new ones would also have their chance. Like Christine Lagarde, boss of the European Central Bank, former director of the IMF. Finally, according to our colleagues from Le Point and Le Figaro, Elisabeth Borne, current Minister of Labor, ex of Transport, could see her grade improved. It remains to be seen whether Emmanuel Macron will follow what the rumors say or if his plans are different.
